1. Search for "community gardens near me" and research the first few that come up. How far away are you willing to go? What does the space look like?
2. Check out the space, and introduce yourself to whoever's in charge. Some gardens require a fee or clean-up service.
3. Follow all of the rules and restrictions of your new garden.
4. Don't be nervous or afraid to mess up — everyone had to start from somewhere!
