make a pollinator-friendly window box

why you should do it

Even with a little bit of space, you can help support species by planting pollinator-friendly plants in your window boxes. Window boxes are small gardens that make it super easy to care for whatever you put in them.

how you can do it

  1. Purchase a window box, if you don't already have one. You can also make one out of wood if you prefer.
  2. Analyze your window position — does it get lots of sun? Some shade? This will determine what you can or can't plant.
  3. Determine what plants are native to your region — these are the most pollinator-friendly plants around.
  4. Plant out your box, based on your restrictions and native plants.
  5. Plant your new pals and make sure to take care of them as needed!
