How to
Not Kill your
Succulents
What is a Succulent
Succlents are plants that store water. Derived from the Latin word sucus, which means juice or sap, these plants are often considered to be drought-resistant. This diverse group of plants is popular for the home gardener and generally don’t require a large amount of maintenance. Because of their low-maintenance nature, succulents are popular as houseplants in all areas of the United States.
Water
Succulents should be watered generously in the summer , BUT soil should be allowed to completely dry between watering!!
Sunlight
Most succulents prefer at least 6 hours of sun per day, so try to place them near a south- or east-facing window. You may notice your succulents becoming spindly or stretching toward the light if they don’t get enough sun.
Potting
Nurseries always plant their succulents in soil that’s too rich and retains too much moisture, so you’ll want to repot your succulent as soon as you bring it home.

Barrel Cactus
Barrel cacti are various members of the two genera Echinocactus and Ferocactus, found in the deserts of Southwestern North America.
Aloe Vera
The first step in aloe vera plant care is to realize that this plant is a succulent. Like cacti, succulents do best in dry conditions. When growing aloe vera plants, plant them in a cactus potting soil mix or a regular potting soil that has been amended with additional perlite or building sand.

Results
After 3 weeks with my succlents my final thought are there is no perfect routine to care for your succlents. My succulent that followed all of googles instructions of lots of sunlight and water once a week looks worse then the one that was in my closet with no water for three weeks. I guess this goes to show you need to learn from your succulents rather than use google to learn about them.
Sunny
Sunny ended the experiment with 3-4 shrivled up leaves at its base. Sunny still looks good but not the best compared to the other plants.
Thirsty
Thirsty must not have needed water becuase Plant grew even bigger and looks better then orginally.
Plant
Plant ended the experiment strong with the same vibrant color but a few dead leaves at its base.
Gloomy
I am shocked at how well Gloomy did in this project. Gloomy looks identical to the day I took him out of the box. Good for Gloomy.
